We’re starting an RC Club but need your help

In order to move forward with setting up a local RC Club we need to know whether there is sufficient interest within the local area.

The club would aim to cater for all levels of experience. So whether you’re a novice or a seasoned expert please register your interest.

Glad you asked!

We have been given permission to use land behind the Victoria Sports & Social Club by Street Parish Council and Somerset County Council You can see photos and location below.

Our plans were to have a basic track set up and ready to use by Spring 2024. However, after consideration we will be using the space “as is” until we have enough people coming along on a regular basis who together can decide how we move forward.

Track area

Length: 39.5 m
Width: 16.5 m
Area: 651.75 sqM

The surface will be grass to begin with but we will review this as interest grows in the club.

At this moment we are still gauging interest in the club so these details have not been finalised.

It’s always helpful to have BRCA membership which covers you to run your car anywhere with the knowledge that you’re covered should the worse happen. Whether we will require this for our track is yet to be decided.

We plan to only allow electric cars to run. Nitro is too noisy as the track is close to a residential area.

Right now any size car is welcome. Owners of large 1/5 scale cars just need to exercise common sense around smaller vehicles.

Here’s a helpful visual guide to RC car scales.
